Two albums recorded and produced by N Studio Lisbon have been nominated for the Play Awards 2026, one of the most prestigious accolades in the Portuguese music industry: Kokyuu, by Luis Tinoco, and Six Portraits of Pain, by António Pinho Vargas.
Double Nomination
The nominations recognise not only the creative work of the composers and the outstanding editorial work by Artway, but also the technical and artistic quality of the work carried out by N Studio Lisbon. Both Kokyuu and Six Portraits of Pain are contemporary music albums that stand out for their sonic depth and interpretive rigour.
Kokyuu, a Japanese word meaning “breath”, is an album by Luis Tinoco comprising three works: Work Songs, Cello Concerto No. 2 and Accordion Concerto. Six Portraits of Pain, by António Pinho Vargas, brings together two works: Six Portraits of Pain, for cello and ensemble, and Oscuro, for orchestra.
