31st of October 2021 Christopher Bochmann conducted his homage concert with Orquestra Sinfonica Juvenil, which took place at the São Luiz Teatro Municipal in Lisbon.
Christopher Bochmann’s homage concert’ programme begins and ends with “L’Hotellerie Portugaise: Overture” by Cherubini and “Béatrice et Bénédict: Ouverture” by Berlioz (Professor and pupil). In between were included pieces by former students of his, which were dedicated to him. This programme symbolises very well his activity as a teacher, composer and conductor here in Portugal. The programme also includes Anton Webern’s Op. 7 orchestrated by him.
As a conductor, Christopher Bochmann has been especially active in the fields of contemporary music and youth orchestras and choirs. Since 1984 he has been resident conductor of the Orquestra Sinfonica Juvenil – OSJ (Lisbon Youth Orchestra, Portugal) with whom he has recorded several CDs of his own music.
This concert was recorded at the São Luiz Teatro Municipal, in Lisbon on 31 October 2021 by N Studio Lisbon & N Music Production Team and will be broadcast by radio antenna 2.
